Brighton 2020/21 Season preview

Where next for Brighton?

Brighton will want to continue progressing in the Premier League. They can do this by pushing for a top-half finish rather than trying to survive in the Premier League. Brighton had moments of quality through last season, but they were very inconsistent, which lead to them having to battle relegation.

What is the biggest challenge facing Potter?

Brighton played a nice style of football last season. The challenge for Brighton will be to score more goals. Brighton is a very attacking team, but they lack the goals to match the style of play. The lack of goals dragged them into a relegation battle last season, but they were never really in a relegation battle. Brighton will look to pick up the points early and challenge for a top-half finish.

Reasons for the fans to be excited and to be nervous?

The fans should be excited because it’s their second season under the Graham Potter. The team hasn’t changed very much so the team should know how the manager wants to play. Brighton needs to buy another striker who can help Neal Maupay score the goals to complement the style of play of the manager Graham Potter.  Brighton only scored thirty-nine goals in the 2019/20 Premier League season with Neal Maupay being their top scorer with ten goals.

Who will be their key players?

Lewis dunk is a pivotal player to Brighton, with his leadership and his quality make him very important to the team. Dunk may be a defender, but he managed to score three goals last season. Lewis dunk embodies what  Graham Potters want from his captain on the pitch.
