Where next for Tottenham?

That loss in the Champions League defined Tottenham last season, and it appeared that the players had lost faith and stopped listening to Pochettino. This season is about rebuilding under a new Manager, Jose Mourinho!! The players have to buy into his tactical approach. He brings a winning mentality, and the board needs to back him with the players that he wants.

It will not be simple in the present situation. So, Tottenham will need to box clever and be shrewd in the market. Tottenham need to get pass this losing mentality, which may mean significant changes in the squad.

What is the biggest challenge facing Mourinho?

Mourinho needs to get this team believing and buying into his tactical approach, also taking on his winning mentality, which may prove to be his biggest challenge because of the years of failure in not winning any silverware.

Getting the players to be 100% focused on every game and not allowing for those lapses that they keep having every season, which always seems to cost them getting over the line. Keeping their key players fit will also be necessary.

Reasons for the fans to be excited and to be nervous?

Tottenham fans can be excited because it’s a new season and there’s plenty to look forward to. Tottenham have Ndombele, Lo Celso, Son, Kane and Bergwijn added to that Gareth Bale. On paper it’s a formidable attacking set of players added to the already talented squad. The only fear is that they  will fail to fulfil their potential and not challenge for trophies. Tottenham needs to start well and be consistent, something they have struggled to do in the last couple of seasons. They need to beat teams that usually finish in the top six. In Mourinho, they have a serial winner. If the players buy into what Mourinho brings and ask of them, they will succeed.
